I had previously gone to Midas to get my break pads replaced. A couple weeks later, there was a lot of squeaking. I figured I should have Midas take a look after another mechanic told me to replace other parts after looking at my car for .2 seconds. Midas took the time and found out that a part had come loose and was rubbing against another part. No charge. As a young female, it’s intimidating to come to car places alone. They didn’t try to upsale me or talk down to me.

It took double the time, which I didn’t mind, but I would have appreciated updates telling me of the increase in time. Unfortunately I was not informed and missed an appt. I was told at a previous Midas that tire patches are always free. At this Midas location the associate was incredibly rude and told me that the last Midas only did free tire patches because the associate wanted to. He also did not apply the $20 off coupon for my oil change even though he told me he did.

This location did not meet the quality of service that I expect from and experienced with other Midas locations. I experiences an issue with my front driver-side caliper seizing up locked onto the rotor. The service manager charged me $1500 to replace both front calipers and rotors, as well as flush and replace the brake fluid. When I asked to just do the damaged side, she said the price would be $1350. I asked why the rotor was still on there, and she took the price down to $1200. She did not even mention there was a coupon. I felt like she was taking advantage of my situation being stuck at her shop. I ended up replacing all of it. On my drive home, which took over an hour, my brakes failed! On LBJ Freeway during rush hour traffic on a weekeday!! When I left the shop, the brakes seemed squishy but worked. On the highway, the brakes went all the way to the floor board and I had to use engine braking!!!The Midas by my house said they would only have replaced the driver side and charged 600-700. There was no need to replace the passenger side at all. They looked at the original rotors and confirmed their evaluation. They also said therr was air in my brake lines!!

Honor your coupon deals!! My coupon was for $20 off but they only gave me $10 off because the associate said their service was already cheap and it wouldn’t be fair to them to take off that much. It wasn’t fair to me that he did that and it also was illegal what he did but I didn’t argue about it.

Service manager told completely what I wanted to be done to my car. The a/c was never check nor recharged as requested. Other services were performed, but took 2 days, not one as requested. Car had to be left overnight-this midas has great difficulty in getting parts in as in past experience too. In addition, manager keep hawking tires that I don't need right now for vehicle. Only reason I took it there was because you can get in quickly. Techs seem to know what they're doing though. Service manager never seems to listen.

I hate I can’t remember his name but the older gentleman that’s usually checking people in is the most personable person you could have in an auto shop. He is always friendly, he doesn’t mind having small talk (which I don’t care for but if it’s presented I will engage but I can tell other customers enjoy it) and he doesn’t hide fees. I’ve been coming here for oil changes for about two years just because of him!!

I cannot say enough positive things about my Midas experience. Up until today I had been going to the large Chevy dealer down the street for oil changes and tire rotations as they were part of a warranty package. They would typically take 90-120 minutes to complete, even with an appointment. Midas had me in and out in less than an hour at less than half the price the dealer quoted me on the phone. My only suggestion is to keep an ear on what's playing on the DVD player. Lots of profanity at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning when I was there. Luckily no kids were waiting with their parents.
The work needed was explained thoroughly and the estimate was accurate. The technition/manager explained clearly what the problems were and why it was important to take care of them in a timely manner to avoid damage to my vehicle. All my questions were answered including what the priorities were for the safe operation of my vehicle. I believe I was given truthful information and an honest estimate.

Additionally, they took the time to actually show me the rotors in question and then provided me with written estimates for the recommended work. I brought my 2019 Ford F150 in for a synthetic blend oil change (up to 5 qt), tire rotation, and brake inspection special that was advertised as costing $24.99 plus disposal fee and was told the extra quart of oil would be an additional $10. So, that should have been in the neighborhood of $38.14 plus tax but instead it came to $42.44 plus tax...that's an additional $4.30. That's not a huge deal but it felt like a bit of bait & switch/adding miscellaneous fees which will keep me from using Midas again.

The guys did a good job on the suspension work., (~$2100). However, someone set something hot on the passenger seat and it left a brown burn mark on the gray leather. For my next visit, I would like to receive a discount in order to repair the burn mark. It did not burn through, but left a circular dark brown mark.
