Extremely Disappointed with Midas Service I visited the Midas location on 50th Street, hoping to address an issue with my front driver side window mirror. However, my experience quickly turned sour. Upon arrival, I was asked to sign a paper without being informed of any diagnostic fees. After waiting for about 20-25 minutes, my car was returned to me along with a bill totaling $174 for the diagnosis. This unexpected charge left me feeling taken advantage of and frustrated. When I questioned the staff about the charges, they were incredibly rude and unhelpful. This lack of transparency and professionalism has left me extremely disappointed and upset. I urge others to beware of similar experiences at this location.
Problem bad workmenship. Missing oil change sticker, tire air preasure not topped up, even though reported on invoice as 35 psi. Washer fluid not topped up. The final major problem is that they broke a j clip on the bolt that fastens my skid plate. They likely over torque with impact gun. The the biggest concern is just leaving such bad workmen ship and not tripling checking. The technician who cause the problem, and the two front desk people missed their insepction of my vehicle. I am waiting for how the management will resolve my issue. if they do a good job and own up to issue, and fix issue My score will go neutral.

I went to your shop in summer 2022 to fix a leak from engine oil. A black repair man said that he fixed it and charged me $450.00. But in reality he did not fix it and it start leaking next day. If you make a mess in somebody's vehicle or accidentally throw bolts out of a cup holder pick them back up rather than just have thrown them and it being all over the back, accidents happen but you must have clearly heard or saw that it happened and should have picked them up and put them back. Also when saying you'll have a quote ready the next day I shouldn't have to call in and ask day after day to see how it matches up to complete the next job.
William is so sweet and just down to earth and can relate to him. He helped me from the phone call that got answered he is a great guy to work with.
My original appointment request somehow got lost so I did not get booked in at my original location but was able to find an availability across the city which I took. It took just over 3 hours to get a simple oil change done. Thankfully this time I had a ride so I could leave which is not usually the case but after an hour after I dropped it off we drove past and it was still where I left it. Then had to wait another 2 hours before a call to pick up wasting most of the day since it was so far away didn't want to go too far in case it was ready soon. 3 hours is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a basic oil change especially since having an appointment I expect it to be started at the very least within that first hour. I have not had to wait so long for oil changes before and this is the second time it has taken this long so I will not be going back and wasting my time with this company.
They provide me the service within a very short time where I did not booked any prior appointment. They understood my urgency and moved accordingly.
My brakes were failing on the road and I managed to get my car into mitis at 4 o’clock. They managed to get it up on the hoist to look at it and told me that it wasn’t only the brakes that there were two other problems that made my car not worthy for the road. I left it overnight the next morning they called and explained the situation we decided it was not worth the money as it was 21 years old. Nathaniel was excellent I have dealt with him before and so has my daughter. He explains everything clearly and is very patient we love dealing with him. I have been to Midas in Saint Albert years past and now on 50th St. assistance where I live. I comfort oil changes etc. and I will continue.

Had an incident with my vehicle where I hit some ice and slit into a curb damaging the right control arm. This was on a Saturday and they got me in Monday. They were very thorough in exploring the issues and what they recommended to be done. They let me know it was time to change my oil and they had a special going on that saved me a lot of money. They called me back to see if the car was working okay. Nethanial and his team wear AWESOME!

When i booked my appointment for 9am Saturday morning the day prior i was told it would take 2 hours. I did not receive my car till after 3 as i was told upon drop off it could be untill 4pm till its ready. Upon pick up i did not receive any details about if the alignment was out or what what done.

I booked a 3:00 appointment for an oil change and check up, I was told it would take an hour and a half which I thought was a bit long, it usually takes me only a half hour but I was already there so I decided to wait, after 1 1/2 hours my car was still in the parking lot, it was finished by 5:30. The work was done fine and the price was good but 2 1/2 hours is a long time to wait for an oil change, especially when someone who came after me was had his truck taken in the shop and fixed before my car even got on the hoist.
Was quoted 75$ for diagnostic scan. Paid 150$ plus 10.50$ for spark plug replacement without being asked. Dropped off my car at 10am Wednesday and could nit get it back until 6pm Thursday.

There is no way a battery change should cost $400! I was not aware the price was that high till the work was done otherwise I would have installed it myself and just bought the battery myself . It’s ludicrous that a 10 minute job cost $90 plus the bogus tools and utilities service charge on top, the tools and service charge should always be included in the labour cost . A customer should not have to pay for tools and utilities that every garage need to had in order ti do the jobs!! That’s highway robbery and I intend to talk to a supervisor

Hello the only thing , that I had an issue with is that couldn't find the problem with shimmy in front end , so we came to agreement to do brake job and tires change then see if that resolves the issue, I ended paying full price thought they may give me a bit of a break on the 168.00 I paid , I knew brakes were awful and tire , so I booked appointments for July 7 to get brakes done

Keep appointment times, communicate as to the reason for lengthy delays. If I knew I’d have to wait over an hour and a half just to get my vehicle in on my day off I would’ve not gone in. I actually cancelled summer tire swap over because of the lengthy delay.
I parked my car in one spot and when I came back it was parked somewhere else but no work was done on it. For what reason was my car moved for no reason at all.
Have better paper work to explain what was completed not a generic format, plus technicians that know what they are doing. Never completed half of the work then send me photos of someone else's car. Possible rip off.

I booked an appointment for a brake inspection. The service advisor advised it would take about an hour. He didn't say it was part off a larger inspection of the vehicle. I booked the appointment for 9 am. I waited until 11:30 and when I hadn't heard anything, I called for an update. The person I spoke with said the inspection report was just sent and asked if I had reviewed it. I did not because the service report arrived by text at 12:43 pm, an hour later. He advised what they found and I authorized a front brake service. When I hadn't heard anything again, I called just before 4 pm. They were still working on my car and I was advised that it would be ready by the end of the day before they close at 6 pm. I finally got a call about 5:30 pm that my vehicle was ready. I booked an appointment for a service that takes an hour, but I waited almost 3 hours for a report. I gave the go ahead for a front brake service at 11:30 am and didn't get my vehicle back until 5:30. Either the service advisor grossly underestimated the time it takes to do an inspection, or the shop technicians are over booked. I shouldn't have to wait all day for these services to be completed.
Many reasons - My Brother first suggested Midas and this location - came highly recommended to me. Every appointment has been on schedule and I get a text message when my car is ready. I can walk around or go for coffee while I wait for the car. The price is very good and no work is done without my knowing the price. The attendant at the desk as well as the workers are very nice. This location is not too far for me. Very happy with everything. Thank you.

Prices for comparable work needs to be the same or lower than a dealership which is generally higher. The exact same oil change at Toyota dealership was $116 which is a $30 difference and Midas should be much less for me to get my car service done there
Was charged for a brake check when my brakes were completed at midas, no defects found but still hear squeeking, oil change and brake check took 3.15 hours. Way longer than quoted. No previous inspection report was available even after was told it was pulled from other location. I have always gotten my oil changes done here and first time it has been a major issue
asked for a Blower motor replacement, dropped off. 8am appointment got a call at 3pm saying assessment was done... didn't ask for that wanted a blower motor....assessment said i need a blower motor.... so $175 for assessment. quoted 388 for blower motor and 200 for a resister so 588 for parts then another 250 for labour...so the parts retail for around 300, I know because i just bought them...so a 288 price gouge on just the parts and 175 for a assessment , that I didn't ask for. lets not even mention 250 for labour on a 20 minute job of installing a blower motor a 450 over charge on a easy fix.I paid the 175 for the assessment and left
It was fine. The only real issue was I booked an appointment based on a coupon I had. I saved it to my email but when I went to bring it up at the till, it disappeared. Ended up costing me an extra $30 so I wasn’t too happy about that. But the guy at the front looks like Jimmy from Yellowstone so that’s cool

Having this gives me the opportunity to schedule and budget for the most important fixes be done by priority. My vehicle is 10 years old and in really good condition thanks to Midas and their staff.

I have come to this service provider for many years, for the cost of oil change at 58.00 and no apologies for the front end person being late! Not impressed!
I didn't know the estimated cost of the repairs expected before they were completed which I would have prefered and did actually request before I had booked the appointment.
The owner of this shop explained everything to me. He called me the next morning and said I needed new tires. I had said I can't afford 4 so he had mentioned you need at least 2 and when you have more funds come back and get the other 2.
I very much appreciated that when there was an issue with shuddering we experienced after changing our tires over the Midas I went to were able to quickly fix the the issue, walk me through some details, and get me back on the road at no extra cost. Things like this make me much more interested in being a repeat customer.

Courteous Staff. Even though this Store was very busy they still took time to install tires for me. It took a long time because they were very busy but I did not need my vehicle ASAP.
Dropped off 9am appointment for inspection. Didn't get a call or any information till close to closing time. Picked car up they couldn't tell me what specifically was wrong "could be multiple parts" quoted me to just replace entire front end suspension. Was also told there was abs issues & needed another 2 hours to complete, why couldn't they do that first? Car was there for 9 hours. I brought it in knowing there was vibrations coming from somewhere. After leaving all I learned was yes indeed there was vibrations coming from somewhere. Now why I paid someone to hold my car for the entire day & to tell me what I already know is beyond me. Complete waste of time and efforts. Will never reccomend and never return.
Pointless to have an appointment for an specific time expecting to have the vehicle served right away.Booked my service more than a week ago for Nov 2nd 10AM. My vehicle entered into the garage 2.5hrs later after complaining to one of the people at the counter.

When I dropped off my car, the associate let me know that the services I required wouldn’t take long at all. I made sure that my cell number was updated, and to notify me when everything was done. I never received a text message, because it was sent to my husbands number. Luckily he wasn’t working, and let me know that my work was done. When I got there, the same associate just handed me my invoice with no explanation of anything. Then I let him know that my text message was sent to the wrong number. He then proceeded to send me the text, when I was standing there inquiring about it. I then had to explain why I was being charged the amount that I was billed for. He just then pushed the invoice towards me to read the summary.

Brought my own Oil and filter and pan plug, thought this would be taken into account and would charge me for labor only. They placed on the invoice the price of oil, filter and pan plug. If you have charged me for these items you should have at least provided me with the items invoiced. This was not done.

The tires were not there. It took so long. Then tire balance machine was not working. I was there over three hours. Frustrating
I went in for a brake flush , they did my brake flush for me and then called to inform me my rotors were bad they then assumed I wanted them fixed( I only wanted my brake flush done ), but when I arrived they understood the miscommunication between me and the gentleman working the counter had lowered my cost quite a lot then gave me a free oil change for the confusion. The team they have there are complete professional and very understanding great jobs !

Made an appointment for 1 PM I asked when it might be ready he said it's going up on the Lift right now. Came back at 2 o'clock and saw the car just going up on the Lyft. After they did all the checks I would estimate it took an hour and 45 minutes to complete the job by the time I left.
The main reason for going there was to change winter tires to summer tires my car come out with winter tires still on it

There was an issue with my front end. We did a whole bunch of other things but not the problem addressed. It doesnt appear to be in the inspection either and is pretty apparent when driving it. I have called today to get it back in to see what the issue is since I just spent $2600 hoping the actual problem was resolved.

One of the reason why I like going here @ Midas especially @ 50th st. Is the discounts and there HonestyI usually go to dealership Mechanics which is sometimes is very costly like they want you to changed the parts that still good.
