A Closer Look: The big news here is a cushy Comfort Layer of rubber sandwiched between the tread and steel belts. It provides about 20% more cushion than standard tires for a truly luxurious ride. The tread patterns include grooves to propel water away, sipes to bite into snow and ice, and blocks that hold the road in dry weather driving. The two-layer sidewalls balance ride comfort with snappy handling. Inside, twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester cord body combine durability with a smooth ride.
