I booked my truck in for a service using the online form. I had a coupon code and after booking, came across another one. I used the facebook chat function to request that they change it to the new coupon, but the person answering was at a different location that was booked. He told me he called them and made sure they knew which price to charge. After my service it was brought to my attention that some other parts of my truck should get looked at, and was told that once they find out prices I would receive an email estimate. We went over how to spell my email and even double checked it was a .ca and not ,com, however they email never arrived.
I've been dealing at this location for the past 25 years. Although it's gone through a few changes in management I have always been satisfied with the level of service from both management and the service staff. The current manager, Spencer, is extremely good at explaining the service to be performed and also after the service has been done. His genuine honesty and commitment to customer satisfaction is why I always come back to this location. Also some of the service staff have been there a long time and I feel confident taking my vehicles to this location for service.

When I initially took my vehicle in it was for a problem that was “repaired “ on Dec 14. The EXACT same problem was happening again. When I told the operator (Spencer) all he said to me was “ oh that’s not unusual we get defective parts like that all the time”. When I took it in to fix this time it turned out that in fact it wasn’t the part that was replaced in December but another part of the ignition. So this time it was properly repaired and I’m satisfied. However no compensation for the previous repair was even suggested. I didn’t expect a refund but I feel SOMETHING should have been offered. I will continue to use Midus but will be more cautious with my recommendations.
I had all my brakes redone one year ago. In July of this year I started a trip to Alberta when the brakes started acting up. They where pulsing and then the vehicle was vibrating so badly that I turned around and came home. Unfortunately there were two ferry trips involved and a day wasted. When I drove off the ferry on the the return trip the problem disappeared. I took the car in to Midas and they couldn't find the problem but charged me for the service. A month later I went to pick my daughter up from the airport in Victoria and the problem repeated itself. This time there were others in the car who could witness it happening. I took the car in again and left it at Midas only for them to call and say they could not duplicate the problem. I went in and talked to them describing exactly what happened and was told that it was a calliper problem. The front two callipers were replaced at a cost of a little over $1000.00. I still don't know if the problem is addressed properly. I will be taking my daughter back to the airport (a two hour drive each way) tomorrow and will see if the problem persists . I live in Nanaimo, British Columbia and the vehicle is a Kia Sorrento.

I usually go to the Midas on Departure Bay store in Nanaimo. Always had exceptional service. I always get a maintenance pkg every 6 months or less and am always charged about the same amount every time unless there is a coupon then it's less or they find an issue and it's more. At Hammond Bay store literally all they did, and I was the only customer at the time, was an oil change that took an HOUR and was overcharged $45 claiming, erroneously by Spencer, it was the special oil. Cow pucky! I ALWAYS get the same oil change at other store for $80 plus tax AND a full maintenance check of fluids, tires, etc.. 3 pages long! I got nothing from Hammond Bay except very bad service. At Hammond Bay store owned by the SAME owners for both stores, I received poor service, was overcharged, and they didn't do another request I had asked for at all until I asked then they did it which I don't think was correct. Spencer was clearly bias because I am a older lady and he treated me poorly and condescending even though I rebuilt cars 20 years BEFORE he was even born. It was just horrendous to be treated so badly

I called at 4:00 on a Friday and they worked some magic to allow me to get in for a wheel alignment. They were incredibly friendly and efficient.
Mechanic didn't tighten battery terminal connectors. Took vehicle to Victoria and it would not start had to wait 2 hrs to get jump started.
The service was quick and complete. I especially want to thank Tyler and staff for their attention to detail and courteous service.
