Whenever I try to get appointment for oil change, need to wait for their appointment approval. If I walked in there will be some cars ahead of me. Compared to Valvoline, the service is very difficult to access. Even getting an appointment is difficult. Also, there is never any synthetic blended oil. Never will be there again.
My ar was immediate worked on without delay,and I was kept informed during the service . There was no attempt to “upsell” on anything unnecessary and I was completely satisfied with the experience.

Mechanic that was scheduled to start at 8am wasn’t there, and it seemed like this was normal behavior from the guy that checked me in. So pushed back start time on my service. Moreover, I’m just not sure that this would’ve been the price I’d pay for this service elsewhere. Even after a $50 discount I paid over $500. And the other recommended services will cost me over $1000 if I come back here fire them. Not to mention, that the service clerk said there may be other things that show up after things get fixed that the see, which I’m sure will keep piling on costs. At this point seems better do buy a new car then pay for services that may be inflated because of mechanic fees.

The absolute worst service I’ve ever received from a mechanic. Even worse was the lack of knowledge on how to do the job from their techs. Tried to get me to buy new calipers, when in fact they were not broken. Tech just didn’t know how to put them back on. Brought to another ship same day & was told Midas has no clue as to what they’re doing. Will absolutely never go back to any Midas. This location is a complete joke. Either they are completely incompetent or they’re crooks… it’s one of the two, but haven’t figured out for sure which it is. Hopefully other unsuspecting customers don’t make the same mistake & come here.
As usual, friendly atmosphere of all employees. Already knew what I was there for but went over details with me and clearly explained cost. Also, taking time to see if I qualified for any discounts. Very satisfied with service.

The young kid at the front desk was rude. They broke the canister casing when trying to remove it and had to order a new one, didn’t inform me until the job was completed. Overpriced and no longer includes tire rotation - wanted to charge $35 more!!!
I dropped my truck off for squeaking front brakes. Front pads and rotors where done by your shop last year. Rear pads were done too. I was told the only thing left that should be it was the rear rotors. I clearly mentioned I felt the front was squeaking. Well $485 later, I still have the horrible front squeaking. Did I waste #485? On top of that 1 week after getting my truck back, I lost the chrome plates plastic cover for the drivers side front rim. How am I suppose to feel? I am Missing a cap now, spent $485, and still have the very loud squeak...coming from brakes your shop did last year.
Courteous and kind . very efficient. Even recommended me to a place for breakfast while I wait. Very impressed with the time that it took to complete the job. I most definitely would recommend anyone to that Midas facility. I thank you so very much. For job well done.

Don’t advertise a 30 dollar oil change and then actually charge 80. I tried to schedule online twice and no one got back to me. I went here for the deal and then of course they get you at the counter. I don’t like shady companies like this. But I needed the oil change so, I sucked it up. Definitely could have gone elsewhere for at least 30 bucks cheaper. Very annoying all around.
Great customer service. I scheduled the visit for the next day, showed up and got serviced. Price was average but the coupon made it better than other options. Not all Midas places take the coupon, not sure why, but this location did accept it and I made the drive just for that. I will be back here for any needs.

I regularly bring both of my vehicles to this Midas. I am always well taken care of, and they communicate with me on any other issues that arise while they are working on something else and give me all options for repair. Usually done in a timely manner and they strive even more if you give them a timeline you need your vehicle back by.

Awfully convenient that the mechanic that we spoke most frequently with and dealt with the most seemed to disappear and stop working not even a week after getting my truck back with issues I might add. Everything that needed fixing was fixed, but then they left a service light on when they replaced the tires/brakes, and it is still on, over a week later. I drove back the same day as I picked up the vehicle, but they couldn't fix it and told me nonchalantly I had to do a full reset, which they could not do because the right person to do that wasn't there that day. I was frustrated because I had already left the vehicle overnight and don't have time to keep taking it back to the shop. They sent me a link on how to "do it myself" so I'll try that, but I shouldn't have to fix the problem myself, after spending over $1500 and being out of my vehicle for more than a day, when I need it for work.

Midas La Mesa on University has always been great to us. I really appreciate the detailed diagnostic reports with pictures they provide each time. Manuel there is always great and explains anything that we have questions about. Their service is always quality and they are clear about part warranties. I had new struts, new tires, and new front breaks installed. I took the truck then to Firestone as they have a lifetime alighnment deal. Firestone noted my front passenger break caliper was leaking. I called Manuel and they were able to get my truck back in right away and fixed the issue in an hour. (They found it was a rusted bleeder valve on the caliper.) We are very happy with Midus and take both our Ford vehicles there for major service. We generally use Valvoline for oil changes and Firestone for alignments, however I think I will be going to Midus for oil changes now too.

brake pads were replaced and brake was fluid changed last august and we only put 3,000 miles on the car since. During service at my local Dealer I was told the brake fluid was contaminated and needed to be replaced. I brought the car to Midas and Will is who I talked to. Will looked at the brake fluid which was very dirty and green. That should not be the case after only 3000 miles if it truly had been replaced back in Augus. Will was not very friendly and seemed to be bothered. Will spoke to the manager who agreed the brake fluid exchange should be redone at no cost. The vehicle was taken care of the next day and it was completed quicker than what promised. Another gentleman was working the counter the next day, An African American gentleman, I did not get his name so I apologize for having to describe him by his race only. He also was not friendly and did not even thank me or said good bye when I dropped the vehicle of, or when I picked the vehicle up. I got the same feeling from him as from Will, he seemed to be bothered and gave me the impression he did not appreciate my bringing the vehicle back. (same impression Will gave me).

I made my appointment and told the rep I had no alternative but to wait for my vehicle. I waited over an hour and no one even looked at my vehicle. When I asked why, especially since I was waiting, I was told that the appointment time doesn't mean they will work on my vehicle at that time, just that I will be on the list. I was never told anything like this when I made the appointment, even though I made it very clear to the person taking the appointment that I would be waiting. If there is no reason for the appointment other than they will work on my car at some point before closing, I should have been told that, and then why make an appointment?? I left, went down the street and found a very nice mechanic who immediately looked at my car, gave me an estimate and started working on it. He seems very honest and responsible and I will go to him from now on.

I was initially encouraged to do business here because of the friendly voice and help setting up appointment. I requested to switch oil to synthetic and requested that especially due to special discount. I had to ask again for the discount and then inspection found I needed rear window brake light and rear passenger light. They then changed the estimate to $80 for window light after giving a different price. I declined. I found later that evening my rear brake light was working. Now wondering if my other was out? I like to come away feeling confident to return for service but once I have to question things doubt sets in. I believe I was due for service on the cabin/air filters and probably should have done that myself since I would have liked to keep cost down. I wasn't going to fill this out since I hate complaining but there it is.

It was an extremely hot day and even though we didn't wait, the waiting area was clean and air conditioned. They staff was friendly and our car was done in less time than they estimated.

Upon picking up my car, I was never well informed about the payment plan, nor did I receive the same enthusiasm with completing the job. Once the maintenance was performed, that was it. I had heard from a friend that Midas was engraving the VIN number on the Catalytic converters so I called and made an appointment. I have been waiting for my catalytic converter cage ever since I purchased my new Prius in April of this year. I am happy that Will suggested that my license plate number be engraved as I thought the last 8 characters of the VIN would be necessary to identify the car my converter belonged with, and he said that the plate also pulls up my VIN number. This was a happy compromise.I was very pleased with the service and am very happy that I found someone to do this for me. I feel much better knowing that my car is less likely to have it's catalytic converter stolen. I thank Will for his friendly and helpful service and I thank the technician for his efforts. I have already recommended the La Mesa Midas to 3 people!

From the initial call to the store at 7207 University Ave in La Mesa,CA. Jerry was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and efficient. Scheduling hit a minor bump the agreed date for repairs was input incorrectly, when notified Jerry expertly corrected the discrepancy and I was able to get my tires done on time. Upon arrival, Jerry was the same as he was over the phone, I also met Manuel who was also professional, friendly, and attentive. Overall both employees made me feel welcomed. Service was done quicker than I expected (4 tires and alignment). Overall, being a little older, it was very nice receiving this type of experience where good business and customer service that is genuine. Thank you Jerry and Manuel and Midas.
