Every time when somethings goes wrong with my car the staff that work there are very nice and work with me. I got towed a few times and they have always tried to help figure out what the problem is and this time around it was my starter.
Called and explained my problem but Laurie gave me a checklist and if that didn't work to call her. I was so appreciative...She could've just told me bring it in....instead she gave me options instead of "only making the sale". Thankyou Midas that's why I keep going back for their wonderful and honest service.
When I was at the UFC Hilo Gym my car wouldn't start. A man at the gym offered me to drop me at Midas. When I arrived there I told them that my car wouldn't start then they asked for my car key and they brought my car to Midas and they replaced the old battery. They were so nice and kind. I would recommend this shop.

Most full synthetic oil changes are not over $100 in my experience. But, this is Hawaii where everything is more expensive! The staff was very nice and explained potential services recommended by mechanic.

We own a 2012 Volvo XC/60 and Volvos are notoriously "quirky". Many auto shops just refer you to the Volvo Dealership for routine maintenance. We no longer have a Volvo Dealership on this island greatly limiting our service options. Sean and his team did a great job servicing our car and even ordered and installed the correct parts. The online appointment scheduling was great, the attendant was very kind to call and verify the appointment (working around a parade route). The oil service was just fine. I had no problem with the staff and the work, all 5 stars. Where I ran into a hiccup was regarding additional work which was offered. She was very straightforward, educating and kind, but the price she gave me was very high to replace tires and struts. I'm not saying it's a cheap job, but when I did some research and got other quotes I found one for almost half what she proposed at an equally well known/respected location. And when the beginning quote is in the thousands... that makes a significant difference. Again, I don't consider this a staff problem, they did great and I appreciate being apprised of the urgent/impending repair.
Repaired a flat tire on a busy Friday afternoon. Went to have a bite to eat, gone just over half hour. Came back the repair was complete, they also put the tire back on the car. Was blown away with the service.

I paid for a brake inspection. The Midas associate was unable to explain the reason why parts needed to be replaced. They wariness 7-10 days to order replacement parts. I took the vehicle to another shop which completed brake repairs that same afternoon. The Midas estimate was overstated by $1,500 in unnecessary parts and labor.
The staff at down town Hilo Midas was absolutely amazing, such a friendly attitude and the attentive soon as I walked in the male associate was nice and very helpful especially with not having an appointment they were able to help me and fast and the lady who helped get all my information documented in the system was very nice and helpful.I expressed to them that their positive attitudes really made my day Thank you again!

Lori took me in even though I didn't have an appointment. I had a "low tire" light indicator and my windsheild wiper was acting odd while I was in Hilo...30 miles from home on a very rainy day. It all happened suddenly and made me nervous. I called Lori at Midas Hilo and even though the shop was shorthanded that day she said she'd pencil me in and check with the guys when they came in from lunch. Since the issues were relatively minor they were able to fix everything very quickly and I was in and out in about a half hour. I LOVE Midas Hilo. It's my go-to place for maintenance and safety checks.

Called for a same day wheel alignment. They got me in and it was a Saturday. They explained how many cars needed alignment and I seen my truck go on the rack within 15 minutes. Took them under 1hr to do it including the test drive and giving my concerns as I added new Upper control arms. Also previous alignment left my steering wheel not straight. They fixed that as well. Very please and now it drives straight

My car has been there 3 x for brake service. Each time the cost was hundreds of dollars. The *Supposed* warranty is worthless and useless. WHY work is done SO POORLY that it requires more and more visits is really disgusting. Everyone I know and speak to has been advised to N E V E R go to Midas. My vehicle is used only on paved city streets, and all maintenance is done in a timely manner.

I was scheduled for a 10:30am appointment for a simple oil change and I did not receive my vehicle until after 2:30pm. I was told the appointment would take an hour to an hour and a half. My time is valuable and was not happy with having to wait so long to get my vehicle.

We paid $1500 for a brake job…only for it to fail in less then a year.Warranty only covers parts but had to pay almost $500 for labor to replace a part that they should have caught the first time they we’re in there . Only if you bring it in 90 days or less then it’s covered. So if it fails every 120 days , you’ll pay also $2000 in a year again for the same thing..I paid labor for a working part the first time !
Super accommodating staff! I got a flat tire in the morning and needed a replacement the day after Thanksgiving. When I called asking if I could come in with no appointment the girl on the phone was super friendly and got me set up for that afternoon. I was able to leave my car on my lunch break and by the time I was done with work they had finished my service and gave me a call that it was ready. They even put my spare tire back in my trunk compartment for me. No hassle, fair prices, friendly staff & my stress was gone.

My car wouldn't start on my busy day. I called Midas, spoke with Sean.. he said bring it in and they would do a diagnostic test on my vehicle as soon as I got there. The tech stated after the initial call that my lug nut was missing and the stud was stripped. I feel like he should have informed me before touching the vehicle because it seems like it could possibly have happened when he removed my tire. I had recently changed my brakes and the lug nut was put back on afterwards and the stud was not stripped so seems a little opportunistic to me. I did not pay to have it replaced and repaired as the price to do so was well above the cost to purchase the part and do so myself.

I brought my vehicle for a safety check, but did not have an appointment. I was told at the time of my visit that the earliest scheduled appointment would not be until the following week. I expressed to the lady taking my information that I was hoping to get it done today so that I could register my vehicle, as my registration had expired. The service agent behind the counter next to the lady told the woman that he would skip his lunch and take care of my car inspection for me! I cannot even begin to tell how truly grateful I was! Was told that I needed to replace my wipers to pass inspection. My wipers were less than a year old and were premium Rain-x. I agreed, since I really didnt have any other option, and now 2 weeks later the new wipers are junk. Feel like I was sold something I didnt want or need.
