I was told four bolts were rusty and needed replaced to do the rear alignment. These 4 bolts cost 318.00 or rather, that was the new estimate for the bolt kit, labor and alignment. When I declined the rear bolt replacement, I was told they would not finish aligning my car (fair) but then still charged the full amount. The parts are 2.50 a piece online.

I came in unexpectedly after my windshield wiper fell off near this location while i was driving in the pouring rain. I was already having a horrible day and was in tears. The man that helped me was SO nice and compassionate. The young lady who was also in there went out to my car and put my new wiper on in a matter of seconds. I was in and out in all of 5 minutes. I also felt the price was fair. I’m so used to getting over charged for things like this and usually do it myself but it was raining so hard and i couldn’t see while i was driving. They made my bad day a little better.

I just moved to Barrington and finding a new mechanic is always scary and frustrating. I called Midas and the guy on the phone was so friendly and professional, I immediately felt less worried. I dropped off our "beater" car for an oil change and inspection. I got a call and an email with a really clear report that included images. They told me that the car wasn't safe to drive, explained why, and showed images that helped me understand. I felt like I got an honest opinion, I didn't get taken for a ride, and they had my best interest in mind.

I was completely shocked at the cost ($nearly $150) to replace two turn signal bulbs— when I even brought them the bulbs. I have had other shops do things like this free— I didn't expect it to be free, but neither did I expect to pay such a hefty price.
I was informed a couple of month ago that my vehicle needed these repairs. The quote that I received was honored 3 month later. In the meantime, I had purchased a set of tires for that same vehicle. Tim informed me after their installation, the issues that may arise from having a poor suspension. When it came time to schedule the appointment for the struts, Tim did not mind the car being dropped off the night before. It worked out for all of us since they were able to start that evening. Then I was able to get me car back sooner than expected the following day. The parts installed made the car handle like it just came off the new car lot.
While the ease of scheduling an appointment was good it took longer than usual because their wheel balancer was broken. Also, the day after I left Midas my car developed a shudder when it was on and the check engine light went on. I suspect something was done in the shop when they were probing the car for the source of the clicking in the steering column.

I needed an oil change on my work truck. I was on the clock. They got me right in they got me right out. Had some good conversations with the men. Showed me a couple of other details on the truck that should be looked at on my next visit. The best thing is that got me in and out no problem. The only problem is I had to go back to work

I came in with a promo postcard for an oil change for $24.99. My car took a little over the 5 quarts allowed in that quoted price. I was told an additional quart was $3.50. So I figured with tax, my bill would be a little over $31.00. My bill came to almost $38.00. After I got home, I saw I was charged an additional $4.99 for a new oil filter that I wasn’t told about and $4.50 instead of $3.50 for the extra quart of oil. The breakout charges at the bottom of the bill showed $8.19 parts?, $19.95 labor and $8.50 shop supply for. Total $37.89.

Honesty. I came in for an oil change because my husband has brought his truck to this location. I was told I needed a new serpentine belt, head light and tire(nail in it). My husband didn’t agree with the prices so I passed and said just to the oil change. Went to another location for the serpentine belt..100 less. They said my head light was fine and didn’t find a nail in my tire. Also, my tires were not filled with air which comes with an oil change. Not good.
Had a burst tire on the road next to Midas. Could not have a better location for the problem and they accommodated me. My wait was less than a hour
I think the Barrington Midas shop does a great job in getting you in for service, doing a good job for what is needed, communicating during the work being done. They are also fair and reasonable and don't try to add on services that are not needed.

The tech (Brian, I believe) was very knowledgeable and was great at listening to my explanation of my problems with my vehicle. I explained my issues if I had to leave my vehicle over the weekend and he was able to accommodate my needs. I picked up my car and the services performed were very clearly explained to me. I thought the price was reasonable compared to how much I have been charged in the past. The best part is that my vehicle is driving great and my issues have been resolved. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. I asked if they can check my brakes and it turned out I needed brake pads and rotors replaced on the back wheels. I was able to get this unexpected repair completed and in a timely manner. I also am very impressed by the cleanliness of this location and the professionalism of the staff.

The brake pedal still seems a iittle "squishy". I bought a pneumatic brake flushing device ($60) and think I'll continue to pull fluid (and air) out of my lines. The brakes (which I purchased from Amazon) were installed and work great. There's just a little polishing that needs to be done. I think the team at Midas did a good job. They did what I couldn't, but I think there's a little more to do. They could have continued, but they felt they had done all that they could. I am happy with their service, but I want to make it perfect for my son.
Return anything that was touched to exactly where it was.. or call me if something was accidentally kept there so I can get it back before you’re not open the next day !

I did not have an appointment, but time was made for me immediately. The workers, especially Sara Sexton, were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. In addition, theywere well-informed about which lubricant my car should have-- I had always taken it to a dealer in the past, so that was a concern. The waiting time I spent was very short, again especially when I compare it to my dealer, where an appointment is required and the waiting time is always lengthy-- at least three times the time I waited at Midas.
