The associate explained the diagnostic process and later the issue with my van. He gave me a good estimate on the repair time, and they called me when my van was ready.
I was given a hand-scribbled engine code rather than the actual print out from the scanner. Suggested repair will likely NOT solve the check engine light problem. Weak excuse for non printed code was, "Oh the printer isn't hooked up to the computer right now." However they were able to produce the print out with Midas headers, location, logo, etc. The gentlemen were friendly and professional, however I felt mislead and deceived. I scheduled an appointment for 8 am and they didn’t open till 10 minutes after 8. The sign on the door and website says they open at 7:30. Also wanted a tire rotation and my tires were not rotated. My rims are marked up so I can tell if they have been rotated. Last time I was there they said that I badly needed shocks and this visit is your car looks great. I used to trust the mechanics at this location no more. I will be going to a dealership for now on, at least they are consistent with service.

I have been a long time customer to the Palatine Illinois Midas location. Have aloways gotten the best care and service on my cars.
Had a heat shield mangled under the car. After analysis, it was recommended that the muffler needed replacement and was cracked. This was fine. We found out after the vehicle was picked up that there was no heat shield reinstalled. When we contacted the shop, they simply told us the manufacturer didn't recommend one. We have researched online and it seems like this was something that was required and could cause an overheating problem in the cabin or something much more serious such as fire.
From the minute I called Midas panicked on the side of the road because my car broke down to when my husband picked the vehicle up. Every member at Midas was amazing. They were completely honest with their recommendations and got my car done in a few hours. Never have I been happier.

I had called just a few days prior and made my appointment to get some work done that I was given last time I was in for service. My service writer Sal was able to get me in on time and completed all the work in just a few hours. He also was honest when he explained that some of the proposed work was not needed.
