I recently visited Midas for car repairs and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff was professional and efficient, managing to fix my car in a timely manner, which I greatly appreciated. However, the pricing was a bit deceiving, as it ended up being higher than initially quoted. Despite this, I found their service satisfactory and would consider returning for future automotive needs.

I made an appt for a diagnostic estimate. I was told by the manager Chris that I had a wiring issue and I shouldn't be driving it over 40mph because I was stuck in 2nd gear. I asked if they could start on it immediately and they did. Although it was there for 2 days, it was fixed to my satisfaction and the quote Chris gave me was what I paid. No more. Had to have my truck towed in for an alternator that went out. The guys checked it out and determined it was the alternator that went out. They also checked the battery and determined that was not going to re-charge (which I knew was coming to an end of its life). They checked the serpentine belt. Instead of trying to upsell they researched it and saw that it had been changed by them not to long ago by them. Once again, the guys knocked it out of the park. Great job by Chris, Scott and the crew in Yorkville.

I had a check engine light on and called Scott around 2:30 and he said if I can get there by 4 pm he could take care of my car. I arrived just before 4 pm and he took care of me. Scott ran thorough tests on my car and said that an inefficient catalytic converter code was the diagnosis. He recommended a fuel system cleaning which he said works 60-70% of the time in my case which will save me over $1000 (by not having to replace my catalytic converter). So far so good (no check engine light coming on). Midas in Yorkville does their best to save their customers money! I highly recommend!
I've been going to the Yorkville, IL location for over seven years and have never been disappointed with the service. Chris, Scott, and Ryan always give thorough explanations of what needs to be done. The garage team are very knowledgeable and do a great job everytime.
I had taken my car in for a standard oil change, and as I was driving home, after stopping my car to pick up my mail, then engine would not turn over. I called the Midas guys and they arranged for a tow truck to come in a couple hours. They determined it was the starter that needed to be replaced, so they fixed it the next day and gave me a discount. Was very pleased they could repair it so quickly!

The sales man kept adding extra things I feel like the extra 750$ for parts that I did think were necessary. The salesman tried to say that the entire arm needed to be replaced. He showed them to me and tried to say it was necessary because there was play but there wasn't. I want the additional 750 dollars back for unnecessary work. He can't just lie. It came to almost 2,000 for an initially high 1100 dollar estimate. I have no money left for groceries. The salesman gave me an estimate then it doubled. Highly unsatisfied

Upon closing up for the night and being closed the next day, if you tell a custom their car will be ready and available in the parking lot, to do so before locking the building. I had to Uber to work and was very late, effecting my job performance.

I only take my car to Midas for any oil changes and car repairs. They always tell me exactly what is wrong with my car including the price and they do a fabulous job.

I came in for an idler arm and a pitman arm I honestly didn't believe that the ball joints in the upper control arm needed to be changed in the lower ball joints but I let him do it anyways I had another garage do work and they told me about the ball joint coming out of the lower control arm that wasn't pressed in all the way your manager said that it came out on its own that is incorrect ball joints just don't come out never had any other problems with the ball joints with the lower control arms before had the truck since 2003 they like to upcharge people while I was there sitting in the building two people came in with complaints one was about an oil change and her serpentine belt came off after she left will never go back there again if anything will discourage people from going there
Car had a very loud noise. They knew exactly what it was and got the parts in and scheduled the repair for the next morning. It was completed in less than an hour.

The time-frame to check my service engine light seemed long, otherwise I was satisfied.
I am been a customer for 5 + years abd the service has always been very good, that's why my car has been serviced by midas all this time.
I had 3 main jobs completed on this visit. The first being a tire alignment. I was called and told my tires needed to be replaced on the front after only having them for 9 months, last purchased with Midas. There was nothing they could do from warrant standpoint so they just rotated back to the front and aligned. The next job was a broken wheel speed sensor. They drilled out and replaced the sensor only to find out that the issue was not resolved and they would need to do further analysis to actually fix the problem... $600 already spent.. The final job was an inspection on a my leaking power steering. I was quoted a replacement of all the lines for $1100.. I decided to not have this completed and took it upon myself to replace the leaking return line... this was a $20 part and the leak is fixed... I am extremely dissatisfied recently with the customer service. I feel that it is all about money and pushing work that isn't necessarily needed. I have been a customer at this Midas for the last 10+ years, but will no longer be

Scheduled an oil change, rotation, and tire repair. Pictures of tire leak were taken but never repaired. Tire rotation wasn’t completed because the same tire is leaking however receipt indicates I paid for a tire rotation. I was very specific that I wanted the tire repaired because I have some upcoming cosmetic repairs being done to the car and didn’t want it sitting at the body shop with a flat. The guy working the front looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about when I asked if they found the leak… They even marked the tire with chalk where the leak was, another indication that the tires were not rotated. The cashier confirmed to me upon check out that they changed the oil and rotated the tires after confirming he didn’t know about a leak in the tire then handing me the receipt packet with pictures of the leaky area…
Great communication and explanation for all of the process. Got a call when a problem was found and asked if I wanted to proceed with fixing the problem and troubleshooting. Greatly appreciated the call beforehand instead of just doing the extra work involved and stuck with an unexpected bill. Great staff and highly recommend. Never had such great service and communication from a shop before until I took my vehicles into the Midas Yorkville location.

Because they take the time to inspect the vehicle, take pictures and document well. They have caught 2 oil leaks that were warranty based and luckily I had the documentation and pics as I brought it in after the manufacturer warranty.

The only issue I had was when it came to check out. The price they wanted me to pay was not the price they quoted me over the phone. $133.00 quote but tried to charge me $180.00. They did give the price they quoted after my un willingness to pay the higher price. I wrote the quote down on Paper that was still by my computer when I got home.All turned out ok and I am satisfied. One other thing that happened was they called me up to check me out earlier but it turned out to be someone else car, not mine.

Need improvement in diagnostics of vehicles. This Midas was unable to definitively determine the source of a major electric issue. The vehicle was drove to Midas with system failures, multi diag lights , and a dangerous steering problems. Yet they were unable to find the source of the problem, alternator, battery, wiring etc… By the time the car was picked up, lights and steering issues were gone, but was informed that the vehicle would likely have issues again. Was advised to return later.
