I scheduled an appt. for an oil change with Midas online because there was a $39.99 conventional oil change special deal. Midas called me saying the online appt. booker was being finicky so they needed to reschedule, which was fine with me. The problem was when I came to pay.The guy at the desk initially charged me $75. I said, "Isn't there a 39.99 special?" He asked if I had a coupon, and I said no, the promotion was online. He said ok and "applied" the discount. He said the total came to $65. I was confused but I paid anyway.I then asked him for a cost breakdown, and it appeared to me that the oil change was priced at $50 + $15 tax and oil disposal fee = $65. I pointed this out to him, and he scratched his head, feigning ignorance, and then exclaimed "Ohhh! It looks like the discount only took of $10 instead of $20. The price of oil has changed recently."Finally, he gave me a refund of approximately $15, so that the price of the oil change was $40 as advertised + $10 taxes and oil disposal fee. It's VERY obvious the guy was trying to scam me, and hoped that I wouldn't question his pricing methods. He's no fool.

Rear brake job. Rotors failed after 18000 km. Replaced for free but this should not have happened. And it wasted a morning of my time. So, good people and good recovery but defective parts.

The Midas on 1691 is my favoured location. A few years ago, this location with much of the same staff made the best case out of the worst case scenario. I gained their trust from this experience. There are other locations and plenty of other mechanics closer to my apartment, but I still choose to make my way out to 1691 Bank street. I don't believe they would have much recollection of my previous visits, but it's all the more reason why I value their kind and thorough service. I hope that they are recognized

Midas was recommended for a repair my dealership was unable to complete. I was brought into the bay my car was in and shown what the problem was and another issue they found. I was explained what the repair would entail for why I was there, but the service consultant discussed options for the other issue discovered. I was not charged for the repair on my car, but took the suggestion to book an appointment for the other issue and was able to get an appointment fairly quickly. That service was completed and I have a follow up appointment for the next step with the issue.

I experienced a problem with my front tire, and stopped at the shop to ask them to take a look. Despite being busy, they said they would check it out the next day. They did and found the problem was a faulty part. Most of the work and pieces were covered under warranty so I only had a small bill for brake fluid line and fluid.
I changed break rotors and pads three months ago Went back for service and Midas changed all defective products on warranty and charged me nothing. Midas honored their word and warranty. Thank you Midas

Have always been well served by these two gentlemen over the years for my car and my wife's car.Safety check was issued "easily" probably because Midas has kept our two cars in good shape over the years.
Everything was explained very clearly and although I had not pre-booked a brake inspection this was done together with the extra work all at the same visit.
After my inspection I was recommended some work and I needed it because it was a safety issue
My 2006 Mazda3 Sport started making exhaust noise, and we were supposed to leave today for New Brunswick for a month. I cold-called Bank Street Midas at 8:20am, and Greg cheerfully said come on in, we’re busy, but we’ll try. Mathieu had it on the hoist by 8:45, needs a short pipe section welded in. Paul entered the work order, and Mathieu got to it by 9:45, done by 10:30. Meanwhile, I walked back some Tim’s donuts for this terrific team: really nice helpful competent, such excellent work, affordable $170, and especially rising ‘today’ to my little urgency for travel. They brought me out to my car. Showed me the issues, gave me options on my parts explained the difference between 3 and 5 year warranties on my parts and explained that they or the mechanics are NOT paid by commission
Alex is really good at reviewing what is wrong and what needs to be fixed and why. Midas has always been fair with us, which is why we keep going back, and we enjoy dealing with Alex.

I have been coming to Midas for about five years. Every issue with my car has been thoroughly explained to me before I accept the repair. There is no pressure. Staff have always been friendly. A loaner car is available for me if the repair time is long.This time it was just for an oil change, but issues were found with the exhaust. The mechanic took a picture of the problem so that I could see it. An estimate was then emailed to me and I will be booking an appointment for the repair.
First time there. Usually go to rapid lubes places. Last time there they tried too much upsell. One of their employees was verbally abused by his superior in front of me. Felt like it was shady. Liked your door sign valuing customer satisfaction. Job was done in the time estimated.

A larger issue than originally expected came up and i could not drive my car anymore. They offered a free loaner for the weekend to accommodate me which saved the day. I would go back just for this. The staff were also amazing and very friendly.
There is no competition in price with other garages or Costco on synthetic oil change.Private garages charge $69.00 and Costco charges $59.00 while Midas charged $89.00 plus $13.00 for additional 1.4L of oil.

I’ve been to this Midas at least times in the past two years with mainly issues with my brakes but this time I went in to get my winter tires off and a safety standards. I was told what was wrong with the car and what needed to be addressed to pass the safety. Will go back soon to get the tensor belt replaced and alignment.
The specific characteristics of the tires were explained to me, the relative pros and cons, etc. I was very comfortable with the recommendations.

Went in the day I booked the appointment, and was able to pre pay for my tires. On the day of my appointment, the staff was a little overwelmed woth clientell, but still yreated me like family.

They never, ever upsell: they are straight forward about what you really need to have done, and what's not needed. A great garage!
Had my brakes renewed, oil change and summer tires installed. Very good explanation of what my brakes needed and why it was required. They lent me a loaner car to go home and wait. Overall, the guys were professional and very friendly.

Paperless report not as informative as previous paper in voice. Lacks detail on recommendations.Fortunately manager Alec verbally filled in details...an excellent communicator.
