Car's are expensive to fix so no matter how good to service is you never leave feeling completely happy. That being said, maybe some better explanation of the options available or the reasons of the repairs could soften the blow a little. I can't quite imagine a better way of handling it than the Midas Bathurst team though. They're pros and make me feel confident ultimately. Just, unexpected car repairs/prices hurt the wallet!

Brought car in to check issue of stuttering engine. Was told new spark plugs needed. Quoted around $1250 for a new set, labour, and other associated parts. I had to point out that I recently had spark plugs replaced. Reception told me they would look into it. I had to call back to inquire. It was then determined that new spark plugs were not required, but a new wire set, quote was now $350. Obviously happy about that, but concerned that I had to inquire into the recently replaced spark plugs in order to get a deeper diagnostic on the problem. Would it have happened had I not inquired?

The cars tire pressure gauge wasn’t working and I was hoping that the staff could monitor it or perhaps reprogram the system. But I still have the problem of the light not going off for my tire pressure gauge, which is rather inconvenient.

The service and people were pleasant to work with and the work was done well but their rates are exorbitant. I elected to go there as I was looking for a local mechanic and Midas on Bathurst is within walking distance of my home. My time is limited and my brakes were in desperate need of repair and my oil needed to be changed. An associate there mentioned that brake service should cost $6-700 when I was booking my appointment. Once I had the dropped off my car and I got an estimate the cost for the brake job on my Subaru Impreza was almost $1800. I reluctantly agreed to get the service done. After my service I contacted Subaru to get a competitive price for the pads and rotors. Midas charged close to $400 more. They have coupons on line for both oil changes and brakes but neither were mentioned when I was providing my estimate.

I had excellent customer service. Sheila spoke with me in detail about everything the technicians were doing and Paul the technician spoke directly to me before starting any of the jobs. Everything was completed in a reasonable amount of hours, and all tires were available with no delays or service doubts whatsoever.

From the moment i get there to drop my car, the environment was as friendly and quickly and was advised of the next move as the car went for inspection. I received a text message and notifying me what was needed and the outcome of the job. I believe Sheila was the person saw and she was actually training the other girl, telling her how to handle other things connecting to my problem. I was allowed to go and speak with the mechanic and they showed me what was wrong with my car and what was needed to be done. Very informative and helpful. I dropped my car off for an oil change, and an hour later I receive an email with results of a full inspection, that I did not ask for. Multiple areas of my car were taken apart without my knowledge. When I picked it up, I found one of the pieces laying on the ground in the passenger seat. Thankfully it was just the cover to the cabin air filter, which is an easy fix with some Googling, but what if it has been a crucial part or something that made it dangerous to drive? The person who answered the phone when I called said they'd "ask the technician", and he claimed to have no knowledge of it. This is not OK, and I will not be returning.

The Midas oil change is advertised as $55 but comes to over $70 with the taxes and fees which needs to be better communicated beforehand. The inspection was thorough however and is appreciated even though some of the items feel like they are trying to upswell to me. Overall I do like the Midas experience and will continue using their services.
All steps were simple, from booking to pickup. This was my first time with Midas, or any franchise. I’ve usually gone to independent businesses. Thought I’d try Midas due to proximity. Appreciated the booking system, the established protocols, and office staff. I’m not sure how competitive the pricing is or how it compares to the independents. I suspect I was paying for the established franchise systems, service and staff, but it was imperative that the vehicle be in good operation for my daughter as quickly and efficiently as possible. It was a ‘treat’ for me to engage with a clean and well-operated vehicle business. And it was enjoyable to be greeted by the two female staff. And I was asked to come back in two weeks to tighten the wheels which I’ve never been advised to do at other garages after having wheels reattached. This was reassuring.
The biggest issue is the pricing. My car has issues, I'm aware, but when they recommended parts and services to fix it, they're quoting me prices that are well above and beyond what is reasonable if I were to just procure the part myself and take it to a smaller mechanic. For example, the quoted price to replace a tie rod and do wheel alignment would be around $450 - I got it done from a smaller mechanic for less than $300. Stop gouging your customers.

the internet said all MIDAS was doing oil changes for 39.98. WHen I picked up my car I was told that the fee was 93 dollars. The Attendant said that this particular store did not follow that deal.I requested a further incident where I put said car in for an engine cleaning and when I got home and looked at the filthy engine, I went to a garage and paid $300 more to have it re-cleaned. I wrote an email to Midas on Bathurst and complained about my first cleaning and they have never replied. DR D. fRASER

The attending person (Sheila) was very knowledgeable and straight forward. A technician (I think Paul was doing service work as well) was also in the office during the introduction of service options and review of pricing.We did not stay during the service, though the waiting area was very comfortable and inviting. We returned as the service (inspection of the exhaust system which has just started to make a guttural sound, and an oil change) was completed, and were presented with options for further work. All of this was well explained and though some of it likely should have been proceeded with (such as a very blocked filter for the cabin air, which I do realize causes the system to have to work much harder to provide air) we simply didn't have time.We don't live full time in the City, so we are not highly likely to return for further service, though I certainly would not hesitate if we were in the vicinity (which may not occur as we stay in North York). I was told I should probably change my cabin filter and transmission fluid, as well as flush my brake fluid. All of which was done last year. The cabin filter twice! I was very confused why on my call they would tell me I should do it. Just because im a woman does not mean I am inept at dealing with my vehicle.

Be more clear with what service will be done on my car. They did not have any affordable tires in stock and the only option to fix a flat tire was to buy two expensive tires for a total price of $550. In what world does a flat tire cost $550?? I had to pay $42 for an inspection they did not tell me about that supposedly only took 10 mins. Will never go back

Was told over the phone I could get the oil change right away. Got there and they did not looking at my car for at least the 15 minutes it took to get my information. From drop off to pick up was over an hour and a half.
I had a flat tire and got an appointment very quickly. The staff assessed the condition of the tire, recommended new tire because it was not salvageable, ordered the tires and installed them the same day. The service was great!

Was asked to return to Midas within 15 minutes to pick up my car, (extremely short timeline for not letting me know my car was ready for pickup previously) and when I arrived within 15 minutes, the shop was closed, and it was closed the next day as well. As a result I did not have my car for 2 full days for only an oil change. No associate has yet to reach out and explain why this happened. A longer timeframe to pick up my car would have been acceptable, or to wait the full 15 minutes as they had requested for me to come and receive my vehicle would have been proper service.

I had to wait three hours for a winter tire change. I dropped off my vehicle and came back an hour and forty minutes later as instructed and then had to wait an additional hour in the Midas waiting room. A phone call for an update on the delay would have been appreciated.
The items I was paying for in my package were not explained, I had to ask. She explained then incorrectly. Afterwords I called and stated what I was told initial, was told "that's not accurate".

The technician and the mechanic are very nice and informative. My Chrysler 300s runs like brand new again after the oil change and the repair done to my vehicle. The cost of the repair is a bit pricey but I cant complaint because I know the vehicle will last longer. MIDAS at Bathurst location has way better service than Downtown Chrysler Jeep Center.
I had booked a 10am appointment but when dropping off I was told 5 or 6 people had come in ahead of me so the service might take longer than expected. I had assumed that making an appointment meant a spot was held for me. It left me feeling uncertain of when I could expect the service to be complete.
The person at the front desk was amazing. Professional, kind, considerate and helped me on a very difficult day. She made my repair that day possible when I had very limited time and was compassionate and caring in the process. The mechanics who completed the job so quickly for me were exceptional.

I have been going to this Midas location for over ten years. I first went because of the convenience of the location, but it is the staff and service that keep me coming back. Sheila at the front desk is wonderful, and after these many years feels like a friend. In fact all of the staff are friendly and helpful. They never over sell products; just the opposite actually - they try to save you money. I trust them completely.
I got there early and they took me in early. the work appeared to have been done completely.
They told me other maintenance needs that were required but didn't pressure me to get them done immediately. I was explained very well the best time to drop off my car.

My appointment was for 8:00 am. I was received by staff at 7:50. My car was taken in for service (check and repair A/C) at 8:00 am!I was called when the Inspection was complete. (Sorry I answered the question about Communication inaccurately, I did receive some communication during the appointment.). The problem and cost to repair were discussed with me.I agreed to the repair which took about 40 minutes, shorter than expected.Once completed I received a call to let me know my car was ready for pick-up at 10:35 am.
Associates communicate clearly about my vehicle's need for service and the rationale for various pieces of maintenance. Mechanics are thorough, and display replaced parts to demonstrate exactly what work has been performed.

The location agreed to properly patch my tire without an appointment. I had been turned away from 3 other places that day including a Midas location I have used before. Sheila is wonderful, the technician was very conscientious took time to explain an issue I didn’t know I had with some custom rims.
Your pricing is ridiculous. I was quoted $1500 for the job. When I checked with my regular garage they said there was no reason it should cost this much. I cancelled the appointment and was treated very well by the team.

We switched to this Midas a couple of years ago and have been so happy with the service and the staff. We always call ahead to book and the phone is always answered right away. The staff always call if they find things that need attention. They explain the issue, offer options and provide the cost estimate. Everything is transparent. I do and will continue to recommend this location! The renovation to the office is also beautiful!

My only feedback is more accurate estimate on time to completion. I got called saying it would be about 30 minutes so headed to the shop. It was over 70 minutes until the car was ready. I did appreciate the thoroughness but I could have gotten some other things done if I had a better estimate on when to pick up.

Price of the safety inspection is high compared to other locations and the time it took to complete was long based on the fact the car is not even 6 months old.

I had an appointment at 12. My oil change didn't get started till 1pm and left the shop at 1:45pm. The employees didn't seem to be doing anything, when I brought up I needed to go, around 1:15, they started my oil change.
I really like the employees that were assisting me. They were very knowledgable and friendly. They pointed out several other areas my car needed servicing in and sent me invoices. It felt like they were going above and beyond and looking out for my safety.
