This Midas is the only place I use to service both of my cars. I printed a $29.95 coupon for an oil change and tire rotation from the Midas website. It was easy to make an appointment. However, the final price was $46.70 and the math on the itemized invoice was completely incomprehensible. While $46.70 is a more than reasonable price for this service, bait and switch advertising with an opaque invoice is a bad business practice. If the service is going to cost $46.70, just say so up front.
The experience has been always good, that is why I have been a loyal Midas customer for a while now. On my last appointment I got charged double of what I usually pay and when I asked why, I was just told that everything is more expensive now days.I like everyone there, but I will try to find another place with my price range $25-35 to change my oil. I never try getting other services because I noticed their services are way too expensive. They also got away with the coupons they used to give me, so no savings of any kind anymore.
I dropped off my car at 1:00pm for oil change, routine maintenance and state and emission inspections. I knew that was a fair amount so I was expecting it to take while, but grew concerned around 6pm that I hadn’t heard anything since the shop closed at 7:00pm and I needed my car before they opened the following morning. Once I called, they informed me they recommended another maintenance item which I approved and the car was ready for me to pick up at 7:00pm. All of that was fine, but to get from satisfied to highly satisfied I would have appreciated someone from Midas reaching out to update me on recommended services and or timeline for the car to be ready (since seemingly it was ready when I called but for the recommended service). I just worry that had I not called they may have closed without updating me—which could be totally unfounded—but after 5 hours and only 1 hour until closing that’s how it felt.
I was dissatisfed because Midas would not let me cancel an order after I placed it. On March 16, 2024 I went to Midas after my car failed inspection. Midas determined that the work that needed to be done for my car to pass inspection totaled slightly over $1,000. I agreed to have the work done, and I paid for the parts & labor using a credit card. Within a matter of hours I began to reconsider. I began to think perhaps I could find a lower price if I shopped around. ($1,000 is a lot of money.) I then called Midas to ask if I could cancel my order. They said I could not cancel because they had already ordered the parts. It is hard to believe the order could not have been canceled. The parts had been ordered no more than 3-4 hours earlier. Almost always an order can be canceled within only a few hours of making it. The parts may have been parts Midas does not normally keep in stock, but it is hard to believe that Midas could not have contacted the vendor and canceled the order with the vendor. If Midas currently works with vendors who do not allow them to do that, then Midas should begin looking for a new set of vendors.

It’s rare - especially as a female diving enthusiast- to experience such quality service at an auto place. Adam and the entire team are exceptional and I’m really glad I have found such a great alternative for my mini cooper other than the dreaded dealership experience(s) of the past.
Offer discounts. Other do, Midas should too.
Just the delay in getting car serviced. The staff and service were good enough that I will return. 1 experience won’t change my desire to use this location for my needs.

Because I live in Maryland, I had to have my vehicle safety inspection done in Maryland. Of course, the repairs could be made anywhere! It's an hour drive from my home to the Midas on Duke Street in Alexandria, VA, but it's worth every minute and every mile. The staff at that location is honest, trustworthy, and considerate. Many mechanics have tried to take advantage and sell me unnecessary services. Not these guys. Because of their honesty and quality work, I'll bring my cards back to them as long as I can.
Adam took his time to make sure I understood the problem with my vehicle and walked me step by step through the process. He was very accommodating and came highly recommended. Steve was a pleasure to speak with as well. Midas in Alexandria off Duke St. is definitely a hidden gem.

I was not given an estimated price at time of drop off by Midas and the final price that was attempted to be charged was far higher than what tire rack had quoted me. Also, was told it would be a 2.5 hour job, and it was closer to 4
I don’t know. After the part was put in, my front brakes locked on me while driving in heavy traffic. It was the first time I was genuinely scared for my life while driving.

Had an appointment and waited. They said it would take 90 minutes but provided no updates. After two hours I asked about the status as my car hadn't moved from the parking lot. At that point they told me it would take 90 minutes. After another two hours they finally completed the work and offered no explanation. They gave me a coupon worst five dollars more off my next oil change for making me wait and extra two and a half hours. They also didn't apply my 10% coupon to most of the work so it ended up being a 3% coupon.
I April I paid $1,000 to have rotors reworked. Now in September I was told th front rotors are bad. I paid $600 to replace them. My original problem of vibration during braking still persists and I’m being told I need new rear rotors for another $500. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I suspect the original rework of the rotors wasn’t accomplished correctly now I have to pay more to fix the problem. I have lost trust in what Jerry tells me.

Not adding oil to an engine after draining it is very reckless. I'm worried that my engine will have issues. I took my car to another Midas after driving it 170 miles. They added 5.7 quarts of oil and said it's very likely I will have engine troubles.

I had traveled to Alexandria from NJ when my engine and battery lights came one. The reviews were really good so I emailed a request for an appointment. I got a call that they were overbooked, but I could bring my car in at 10am, bring it in before 7pm or drop it off to be looked at first thing in the am. I went after 7pm to drop off the car. There was a box with envelops and pens that said last door. The last door had no lockbox or slot for the key. I walked back and forth multiple times looking for a slot. My Uber arrived and I had no place to leave my key. I had to pay to cancel my Uber and only left with the option to come back at 7:30am on my vacation. I was told when I returned that the key could be slid under the door smh How would I know that. Other than that Adam, Shane and another guy were GREAT! They were even honest enough to tell me I could make it back to NJ with the issue they found and didn't lie and tell me they had to fix it. They let me know exactly what was wrong, price to fix it and that they would be happy to repair it. I was extremely pleased with their service. i just suggest a better way to leave you key for overnight drop offs.

This is a fleet vehicle and once dropped off no other information was required by the Midas station. All work was performed without any other conversation being needed. Truck is running great.
Communication was poor. Try calling the number of the Duke Street Alexandria midas. They rapidly mumble through their greeting so that you have no idea who you ate talking to or if you have the right number. Phone skills are a disaster. In person is no better. One fellow spoke to me in person with a mouth full of cheetos.
The settings did not get reset after changing the oil. The light is still on. It stresses me to see that light on. Will call to get instructions how to reset it.

I tried to schedule the appointment on line but never heard back from the shop, so I arrived without scheduling. They were able to take me immediately and did the work while I got a cup of coffee across the street. The Midas representative called me when the car was ready. He asked whether I wanted my air filters changed, which I had already done myself, but was not pushy and did not try to sell me things I didn't need. That is why I trust this store and will return when it needs major repairs.

Every person down to the mechanics were extremely kind, thorough and transparent during the process. The front desk operator was extremely kind, I will be returning to Midas for future visits at the Alexandria/Arlington location!
I was a walk in and they were able to squeeze me in and fix a difficult tire issue of mine. Even though it took longer than expected I really appreciate the service that I got, it seemed like a busy understaffed time but they did get with what they had!!

I asked for the customer service agent to check the tag for when I last got an oil change and so it if it was close. I was actually 5,000 miles from an oil change having done an oil change on 1/7/23. The oil change was completed anyway. That was frustrating when I got in the car and realized Midas didn’t check the mileage or when an oil change was due.
Customer service is the reason I travel out of my way to come to this location.

I thought my exhaust system had been vandalized, but the service team assured me that was not the case.
The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The technician analyzed the problem with my vehicle. I was given 2 options to have my vehicle fixed. After I chose the option to repair my vehicle. It repaired in a reasonable amount of time and was on my way home.
The cost to repair my brakes was astronomical. I paid $1,300 for front and back brake pad installation. I believe that the rotors were scraped or something but that price was excessive.

I loved it. It was simple. I came in, got the car set up, got some food, came back, and left! I don't think I could really feel "fantastic" about any oil change visit, though. Otherwise. It was good.

The only quibble I have is that the cost of the brake repair seemed somewhat high compared to prices for comparable work elsewhere, and for the same work at another Midas about five years ago. Then again, that was five years ago, and inflation has occurred.A possible hidden benefit from this visit was that the shop may have re-tweaked a cleaning of the MAF sensor that it did on my previous recent visit. The car is running much better for some reason, and at no charge, so what am I complaining about? Jerry's crew's work is always good; can't remember ever having to get a redo. Thanks!

Had check engine light checked and codes brought up, turned out to be O2 Filter sensor, and tried to charge me around 225 dollars for the part itself if look online roughly should be between 60-80 dollars. And as i have an uncle who owns a car shop buisness he too said that i was getting way too over charged for the part and to decline it as the total would have been 570.11 for all. I will not be going there again as that was very outrageous of an price.

Went in without an appointment. Problem was identified and resolved all within an hour while I waited. Very good service.
Great customer service from Jerry and the whole crew. This was my 2nd time there for service. First time was for an exhaust leak on my 2003 Audi. Arrived there in the late afternoon on a Sat, quickly diagnosed and repaired. Jerry gave me options on how to fix the problem. On this visit we took a look under the car and I could see where the remaining problems were on the exhaust system and a missing body panel. Again, I was given several options on what needed to be done. I didnt experience any extra up sell or suggestions for things that needed to be fixed, which so many other places seem to push. While waiting for my car I witnessed several long term customers bring in and pick up cars, which reinforced my positive option of this place. Would highly recommend.
Although my issue in the vehicle wasn't fully resolved in terms of after performance :( I was still very satisfied with the service I received both professionally and personally. The location is convenient and I definitely will be using MIDAS in the future

State safety inspector passed my car but said my rear brake pads were near the minimum thickness. Midas inspected front and rear brakes, agreed the rear pads should be changed, didn't try to talk me into replacing the rotors or also doing the front brakes, replaced the pads at a reasonable cost and had me on my way in a few hours. Highly recommend.
The work was done within the time. There was a clear explanations of other works that should be done.
