Kevin has to be the most honest mechanic in Tacoma. I've taken my vehicles there several times and he is always very straightforward. He never tried to upsell you on anything and makes sure you understand what is happening with your vehicle.

I requested an appointment online between 8-10 the following day. I got an email saying I'd hear back in 30 minutes. I didn't. The next day around 8 I get a confirmation for a 10am appointment. I miss it because I assumed it wasn't happening due to the 30 minute window being exceeded by about 12 hours. I make another appointment for saturday at 8:30. No one shows til 8:45. They charge me the wrong amount at checkout, fix it after I've left, and we agree that I will come by monday to pick up the correct paperwork. I stop by after work at 4:30pm. The shop is closed. So while these guys seem nice, they wasted a lot of my time.
The experience was very satisfying. It was quick my wait wasn’t long at all. Owner was very nice and friendly! Make the experience comfortable, they have coffee available and it was very relaxing in there. Very clean atmosphere and nice conversation! I will definitely be coming back!
The mechanic lost a part during my brake inspection. I was required to pay for this part. I believe Midas should’ve done that for free. I also was forced to leave my car over night because the part was not in stock and I had to return the next day for my car. This was a waste of time and money. The prices were insanely high and unreasonable. My tires should not have been taken all the way off for an inspection. This was unnecessary and a waste of time and money.

They charged over 400 dollars just to tell me there is nothing they can do and then after they told me nothing to do they charged another 90 for an oil change.
Driver side headlight was out, told employee what I tried to do to fix it. Five hours later they said they tried exactly what I tried and they could not fix it, but also broke my passenger side headlight which was working fine before. Still charged $113. Now my son's car has no working headlights and have to take it to another company that can do electrical work.

I booked a change of tire to Midas as well as change of oil. And when It was confirmed on the email (change of tire from all seasons to snow tire plus change of oil) When I got there, they just told me that there are no tires available? I take a leave just to spend time for thos appointment and yet you do not have tires available? Why do you even approve my appointment on the first place? and now I have to book for another company to get a snow tire and will take weeks to get a booking?

I was able to easily schedule the appointment, the front counter person was helpful and nice, and the service itself only took about an hour which was nice. I wouldn't expect more than an hour for a simple oil change and tire rotation.
Appointment was scheduled for 8:00. They didn't even arrive until after 8:30.They created an exhaust leak upstream from the tailpipe section by bending the pipe so they could work on it.

My tire was flat and I was fortunate to be across the street from this shop. Although the shop was busy, my problem was assessed within a few minutes. There were screws in both front tires, but only one penetrated the wall. Phew! The flat was fixed quickly and I was on my way. The manager was very pleasant and professional.
I kind of wish that the associate provided a list of what needed to be done at a later time and what is essential to get done next time. Otherwise, I really appreciated the kindness and knowledge of the associate. I definitely appreciated the convenience of the service & the readily availability.

I made an appointment by web and never received a call back.When I called to make an appointment, I specified that I had a limited amount of time.I was told that it would be inspected "any moment " but I waited for over an hour for an initial inspection, which took two minutes and I was told that Midas could not perform the service. Because I had to come from Vashon Island, I was not able to get the service completed at a location that could do it.

I was quoted 300 for brakes over the phone, but then given a 700 quote for same thing when I brought the car in. By that point, I had paid for a “39.99” inspection that came to 54.00 after taxes and fees somehow. Luckily I had gotten an earlier quote from les Schwab for 560, and the sales rep was able to slightly beat that quote by about 50 bucks. However if I hadn’t had that I would have been stuck paying an extremely inflated price.
I want my money back because Midas lied to me about what they needed to do to fix my vehicle. My car also started leaking gas the second day after I brought it home. It also took over several months to receive my vehicle back, only for me to have to take it back due to a puncture whole in my gas tank caused by the way Midas decided to jack my car up. I was told I could not use my current key and would need a new one. All the while once they where done restoring my ignition my old key in fact did work. Midas has scammed me and I want my money back for the damages they caused to my car and the lies that where told regarding me needing a new ignition because my old key would not work. My BMW i740 is still at there shop on 6th ave in Tacoma Washington 98406. This is horrible.
I was quoted work which the car did not require. We had just had an estimate to get brakes replaced at the dealer in Denver but decided to get them done in the Tacoma area. The dealer inspection did not show the work your shop quoted( new calipers). I can only conclude your shop was gauging and to make matters worse we were charged an inspection fee because we refused the fake quote.We did bring the car to another shop and replaced the brakes for a fraction of what your shop quoted and no reported problems with the calipers.

I was told inspection fee was zero. I have cancer, as a last result I wanted to check to see if it was reasonable compared to my normal repair shop, it was not, however I paid and informed him I was going elsewhere. I went into Midas for a fuel pump/ injection cleaning because my car was idling whenever i accelerate. They looked at my car and found a front indiscrepancy and I told them that they could fix that, but in the meantime I also needed the fuel pump/ injection cleaning done. I was at the store for two full days waiting for them to finish, when they finally finished he told me to come pick up my car and when I got there they never did the fuel pump / injection cleaning. I asked him why they didn't do it, and the man at the counter told me to come back another day and that I also should switch out my spark plugs even though my car has no problem starting and I don't need spark plugs

He did not prove any seat covering he went in with oily hands it was extremely inefficient I seen her work I take about 10-15 minutes to change oilA professional took over 45 minutes. He couldn't find the tools and center of technical issues.I reset my own computer cuz you know how to do so and took a while even though I explain to him it's not how it works.All of that maybe not be very confident on the quality of the work. I was highly satisfied with my Midas experience. I scheduled a synthetic blend oil change for my Hyundai Elantra. The person who helped me explained the difference between the full synthetic and synthetic blend oil change. He ran down the price for what I was going to pay for my oil change, as well as gave me advice on a cylinder spark problem that I have been having. Overall, I would highly recommend Midas to my friends and family. Although the price was a little more than I expected, I thought that the price was satisfactory for the quality and service I was getting. Thank you, Midas, for my pleasant experience! Will be coming again in the near future.

This complaint isn't specific to Midas, but all automotive places. It costs quite a bit just to diagnose a problem; I'd like to see the amount spent on the diagnosis applied to the cost of the actual repair. At present I've spent $250.00 and the problem hasn't been repaired yet.

Mitch and Ben were both extremely kind. Ben was able to get messed up lug nut removed and replaced with little damage to my rim, this saving me from buying a new rim. Customer service. So rude when I asked them to keep my estimate and I was going to get a second opinion. Borderline felt harassed because of it. They also tried to replace my calipers without the need. Subaru confirmed they were working just fine. Subaru did the job for $1280 when these guys quoted me $2300. Worst of all was the way I was treated when I took my business away. Never going to return.
I came in need of an oil change and Mitch did everything to get me in promptly as I had no appointment. He had a great attitude and explained everything in detail including the inspection that was done.
Got a tire alignment here. Went well for 2 days and started hearing knocking noises in front left wheel. Called Midas to bring back for inspection. Wheel fell off on freeway. Had to get towed. The car was not tampered with. I park in my parking garage with surveillance. Wheel is now damaged, associate got defensive and says it not their fault. I will pay for a new wheel. But will not being returning to Midas.

When I went in the technician explained that they would perform an inspection to determine what was needed. I needed a muffler installed. Mitch was very courteous and explained how the process would work since mufflers aren't stocked. He ordered the parts, told me how long it would take for them to arrive and what the costs would be. He even took the time to show me what was wrong with my muffler and explain what had to be done and offered different options since my muffler had chrome pipe tips that are not typically on a muffler. I appreciated that Mitch and the tech took the time to explain and was friendly on top of that.
Ritch is was very easy to work with. I can tell he takes tremendous pride in what he does. I had an emergency clutch replacement and water pump kit. He took care of me, and made me feel comfortable. I will definitely be back, and be sending my son! 🙂
After I inspected my own rotors and breaks, finding I needed new breaks I decided to go to Midas since I didn’t have the time. After their own inspection I was told I needed new breaks, calipers, and rotors for the front, and new breaks rear. From my own inspection I requested just break pads. I seen no uneven ware on the pads, I’m not worried about 1/100 of an inch. During their work I was told a caliper had a blown seal and the caliper needed to be replaced. After 1 caliper replaced, new break pads, and a break fluid flush I was charged a little over 400$. If I went with all they said they needed to do it would have been a little over 800$. After the work was done the breaks stops the car just fine wether I press lightly or slam them. I was a little set back by the price. I have experience with mechanics, next time I’ll find the time to do it myself. For people with no experience, be prepared to take a bite out of your wallet. All in all I’m satisfied with there work
Mitch and Ben are great. They changed my oil, but they also looked over my aging car. They let me know what maintenance could be coming up, but they didn’t try to pressure or scare me into getting more than was necessary. I appreciate that.
