The best Midas in Columbia, SC by far. Nice and clean waiting area/bathroom, good quality work, but most importantly an amazing staff who checked in with me, explained my cars needs including what NEEDED to be done vs what was recommended, and was always so nice and welcoming. As I was leaving I pulled the plastic off my seat and the paper floor mat away and one of the workers asked to throw it away for me, this was something no other Midas had done for me. Highly recommend this Gervais location.

Midas shops are part of a franchise and that can mean anything depending on who is running the show. I have traveled a lot in my many careers and have leaned on Midas many times. I am very particular about the service required for my 1987 VW Westfalia as I have lived in Her for business purposes, recreation and (ahem)... other duties. the staff at this particular Midas impressed me as the most dedicated, concerned and truly determined to give me the satisfaction I require. This incudes any motor shop whether Midas or any other company. Cheers, Lads!
Travis took really good care of me and my vehicle. I was able to drop off my vehicle without an appointment and was accommodated without even a pause. Travis and his staff were all very friendly and attentive.

I was extremely impressed with this location. They offered transportation to and from work while the vehicle was being worked on. The costs were better than expected by far. My only concern was the time it took to complete everything. It took most of the day, but I also didn't have an appointment. The staff sent photos of everything inspected and explained in detail what was needed and why.

Here was confusion of the price and level of repairs. I thought I was paying for two new calipers and I got one rebuilt caliper. Partly my fault for not requesting a written, detailed quote before agreeing to the price. Also I tried the online appointment setter and received the initial email that said someone would confirm within 30 business minutes. Two days later I had not heard anything so I called. Travis was very apologetic and offered a free brake inspection for my inconvenience. Though the fact that there was a charge for the inspection when I was having the work done there seems strange. And a $59 shop fee that was not mentioned. VERY dissatisfied with the whole price/ work communication. Despite friendly staff and nice facility, I won’t be back.
Midas was able to complete my service need during my lunch break. They offered to give me a ride back to work if needed.
Could not do an alignment on my model y due to software y’all had didn’t not have my year 2022. There’s nothing y’all did wrong only software lacking which will change in the future.

Told I would get the $39.99 oil change after $10 off coupon applied. Upon checkout, total came to $61.xx. I knew that was incorrect. I was then showed a screen, told it need just over the standard 5 quarts (but that was only an additional $4). Jay changed a value on the screen and the total came to $55.xx. I didn’t protest. But I’m still wondering how a $44 oil change cost me an additional $11 in taxes/fees. Either way, Travis was who I originally booked appt with and he was very professional and courteous.
I was highly satisfied with the service. I dropped off my truck and people attended to it right away. I will highly recommend more people to use Midas!

I feel mislead into paying for a coolant system pressure test that resulted in no leaks. The manager noted, maybe I hit a puddle on the way in…and that’s why there was some liquid around there.
It was easy to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. I was told of how long of a wait to expect when I got there. I was able to add on a service other than what I initially went there for. I was even helped to get a future service and was even offered a loaner vehicle if my next service took a while.
The experience would have been much better if the price of the oil change and tire rotation was explained more throughly. I used a coupon and the price after the coupon was not explained well.

lI brought my vehicle in for a brake pad change/ alignment, and also to have the cooling system looked at. I brought a coupon for brake pad change. I was charged a diagnostic fee for checking to see if the cooling system could be fixed which they said it could not be fixed. However not only was the brake pad change/alignment NOT done, but the Midas employee declined to return my $200 off brake pad coupon. I will be taking my business elsewhere, and encouraging others to do the same.
Don’t call a customer 15 minutes before you close saying their car is ready. Not knowing where the customer is putting pressure on them to find a way to be there in 15 minutes. Also, my exception wasn’t done that comes with the oil change. I had to point that out and he did it, but it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Like he rushed through things and didn’t too much care about me as a client.

This was my first time at this location and they have the friendliest people and best service I have ever experienced at a place like this. They got me in and out quickly, despite not having an appointment. The place was cleaner than any auto shop I’ve ever seen. They made it clear where to park my vehicle before my appointment, they even accepted me early. I’m super terrible with names but the young man who greeted me was very professional and made it clear about pricing and which oil is best for my car. The gentleman who talked to me afterwards showed me other issues I had with my car and had a print out of the pricing so that it was easier for me to decide what I should get for my next appointment
This is a new, modern auto service facility in downtown Columbia. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the service bays. The waiting area is spacious and offers a large wall-mounted HDTV to view and a Keurig machine for making coffee.Besides the oil change I asked for a quote on replacing the shocks & struts on my car. I was given a printed estimate that clearly showed what the charges would be.

I live out in Irmo and drove past many places that do brake work to go to this location. Service writer cocked and attitude when I requested the same pricing as a previous visit… to quote her. “ I’ve been here three years and we never waived the inspection charge” then asked for the vehicle I had the charge waived and after she saw I was not making that up… she changed her tune… then responded with “ I see, the person that waived the discount does not work here anymore”…. Whatever - but that person is the reason I returned with a third vehicle. That’s ok - $50 for shop supplies is why they won’t see me in there again… I guess Midas got the last laugh. HahaAnd it appears there is a scheduling issue as the shop was way over booked. Good opportunity for the owner to train employees….

Correct my problem. Respect me when I return my car with shabby work and a problem I didn't have before I brought it in to Midas. The top of my steering wheel was just laid on there. My battery light came on car almost cut off when I turned on AC. I took it to another Midas, they fixed steering wheel cover, but car still wants to act like it will cut off when AC is past # 2 setting and I have to turn it off. It's very hot here and I'm afraid to use AC. I had no problem until mechanic worked on my car and his attitude was crappy. I will take it to another Midas 1 more time. If not fixed will contact BBB. Everyone was very professional yet laid back at the same time. A better experience than what I'm used to from a neighboring shop. I wasn't pressured into doing something else to my car that I didn't ask for.
In all my years of driving and getting my car serviced I can’t think of a time I’ve ever left and said to myself wow that was a great experience! But this truly was. What was unusual was the friendliness of every person that I came into contact with whether they serviced my vehicle or not: as I was entering the facility; as I was walking towards the register to pay; as I was going to my vehicle; as I was leaving. EVERY SINGLE ASSOCIATE was friendly and acted as if they were glad that I was there. I will definitely be back and appreciate the kind service!

prices were ridiculous, went somewhere else the next day and shaved off about 50% of the cost Midas tried to give me. Also felt like I was being somewhat taken advantage of because of a lack of knowledge of automobiles with extra “issues” and costs being added on.

Three hours to replace four tires seems too long. The technician’s appeared to move and work slowly . They did a good job but there was certainly no sense of urgency.

I came in for an oil change. It took 2 hours.
We were traveling on a holiday and started experienced tire issues. We called around to see if any tire store was open, and the only one was Midas. They gave us directions, diagnosed the issue, put new tires on and we were back on the road in less than an hour !! They were life savers !!!
They took care of us with no appointment and complete the service in a timely manner.

I had a specific problem with the vehicle which I needed to have performed, then I get a long laundry list of items recommended to be performed which were about 10 times the cost of what I originally pointed out to have done. I didn't request these items to be performed, nor did I ask for the wasted effort for the diagnosis. I explained that I knew what the problem was and simply needed the work to be performed.I felt time was wasted performing an inspection when the time could have been better served performing the repair instead.

Told me I need a new manifold cat. Never offered to show me their findings. Don't feel I was told correctly. I was from out of town and felt like they want to try and take advantage of. If they truly found a problem of that magnatute, why didn't they prove to me it was true?
Everybody that I spoke to was very helpful and explained details thoroughly. I have had poor experiences with other auto shops in the past but this was the complete opposite. I felt comfortable and welcomed, I was frequently updated throughout the service of my vehicle, and I was given genuine and thoughtful recommendations for products and services.

Scheduling an appointment with Midas was very easy to do online. I was contacted by an employee immediately. I had a change of plans and needed to drop my vehicle off instead of wait at the store and the staff was very accommodating! They also worked with me to arrange a time for me to pick my car up. I know an oil change only takes 45 minutes but they did not mind holding my car until I got off of work! They honored the coupon I had and the entire experience was amazing! The summary of the free inspection was also very easy to read and helped me identify possible work I will need done on my car in the future and how urgent the work needing to be done is.
Customer service, appearance of location and employees, duration of the wait time was all exemplary. Grateful for my lunchtime visit didn't cause any stress or difficulty to return to my job on time.
My first price quote to replace my alternator was $800+. Way to much! Second quote 20 minutes later $600+. Still too much. Third quote 15 minutes later $500+. All I want is an honest price the first time. Why should I have to barter down the price to a reasonable number. This is why people don't trust mechanics.

When I checked my car in it was fairly seamless process. I dropped the car off, they told me what they were going to do for the service I requested and asked why I thought I needed the service. They completed the job in good time. The guy at the front desk told me what they did and how it went. Overall one of the best experiences I have had at a mechanic shop.

I brought my car in because my oil light was on. I wanted the technicians to look into the OIL LIGHT. They couldn't get the oil light to come on, even though they "test drove it a bunch" (must not have been that long because the oil light has been coming on consistently within ten minutes of driving), so they ran codes and ended up triggering the CEL, which hadn't been on for months! They received a code saying the engine was misfiring, so the technician went inside the engine to determine the cause of the misfire. I get how that seems like a totally rational and helpful thing to do, but that wasn't an issue when I brought the car in. I don't remember whether they called and asked me first, I feel like they didn't. Then I get a call saying my it will cost $760 to fix a misfiring issue that I didn't even have going in. To the front desk attendant's credit they discounted the diagnostic fee so the total quote ended up being about $624, but still a lot for a repair that in my mind wasn't needed in the first place. TLDR: I brought my car in for an oil issue that wasn't fixed. I left paying $152 for them to trigger my check engine light. Now both lights are on. Super frustrating.

Fast service, nice facility, and great customer service
My reasoning for not being highly satisfied with my service is not related to the oil change I received but rather the carelessness with the replacement on the caps of my rims after my tire rotation. After getting home, I noticed that they had been re-installed improperly and were jammed in the wrong position. I spent over 30 minutes carefully removing them with a screwdriver and replacing them in the right position so that I would not lose them during travel. It is quite simple to install/remove them usually, and I am discouraged that someone would not take the few extra minutes to ensure that they are re-installed properly after service.
Friendly staff. Things were explained about what was wrong with my car. Question were asked. I felt like I was giving the correct information about repairs.
When I called to schedule an appointment, I was able to talk to someone very quickly who also listened to the issue I was having. When arriving, it was very easy to see how to get in the building because it was clearly marked. The staff was courteous, and let me know there was an issue with a part coming in a bit later than originally thought. The way that they handled the situation still made me feel like they wanted to get it taken care of so that made me still feel good about the visit.
