Front desk are without exception courteous and polite. The problem I almost always have with midas at both venues is time to do the service. I tell them that I have to wait for the service to complete as I live far away. I usually have my tires changed and oil serviced at the same time. I have been going to Midas for several years now and only once has this service taken less than 2.5 to 3 hours. I always make an appointment during the week hoping that for once the service would be completed in a reasonable time.Please try to do your service in a timely manner for those of us who cannot drop off the car by trying not to jam in too many people in a day. A guaranteed time of service may also be a tactic to ensure this is resolved.
Staff shortages causes significant delays, your manager deserves a raise for the amount of smoothing over he has to do on a regular basis

My Midas advisor Cheryl did excellent job explaining my car problems in great detail. She was kind enough to send pictures of the issue with my car. After see the picture of issue my car it got service on Monday Feb. 12, 2024. Cheryl also mention Wippy Pay to further assist with my brake repair. On Feb. 13 brought car back to Midas to gave front brake services on the car. Jessie Howe was extremely helpful to me with the Wippy Pay. Some of my information wasn’t displaying on Midas data base. He was able to resolve the issue. Bobby Hull did great up on replacing brakes and pad on the front of my car. Kudos to everybody who service my car on Monday and Tuesday.

On our way to a skating competition from Montreal to Toronto, my brand new alternator died. We were stranded, we called every garage we could think of, no one could help. We needed a miracle, and Midas provided it. Thru a friend of a friend, we found out that Midas not only had the parts but would fit us in best they could if we could make it there before 10:30 am. Cheryl was very helpful and professional. She looked for a range of tires when most people would just give you a minimum effort. I knew my 2017 VW Tiguan was needing brakes; and i had been "babying" the tires for about a year. but this past weekend, I knew that the time was here to face the music and repair my brakes. Jessie and the guys at Princess St Midas WERE AMAZING. I bought my car in at lunch and by 5 the brakes were done and i have 4 new tires! I was able to arrange payment as well. I feel that I was over charged. I went in for an oil change. I left with a bill over $500!! I should have suspected something wrong when I was told that I needed new brakes when I had 4 new brakes only 8 months previously! then I was told I needed calipers but I had 2 new calipers when the brakes were done. Then I was told that I needed a new cabin filter and that the brake fluid needed to be changed! In speaking with other people about my experience at Midas before I even mentioned the cabin filter and the brake fluid they knew exactly what I had been told because they had had similar experiences with Midas. My regular mechanic had previously warned me about upselling and charges but he was unable to complete my oil change and I needed it done so I went that day. I won't go again!
90 mins to get an oil change is unacceptable other new places are 15 mins and cheaper. The upswells are annoying. Your pricing for basic other services is more expensive than competitors.
My vehicle was booked at 12pm to put summer tires on all ready mounted Midas had stored them. It took 11/2 hours to complete process unacceptable. Because of short staffing maybe why would I have not been told this when I booked my appointment. My time is valuable too.

This is now the THIRD time that we have booked a service appointment at Midas Kingston and they were not prepared for our appointment. It is incredibly frustrating to schedule an appointment and make the arrangements for ourselves to be prepared for it (to be without a vehicle for the day, etc) and to arrive at the garage and they are not prepared. We have always made sure to communicate with them what we need for our appointment (from experience, because we know they are disorganized so we make it a point to be specific when booking appointments) and either they do not listen or they do not take notes, but when we arrive they seem surprised by things like the fact that they have our tires in storage and they needed to bring them to location so they had them for our tire change appointment. Currently Midas is storing our tires for free which is the ONLY reason we continue to use them. We are already looking for different garages when it comes time to have to purchase, store, and change our tires next time we are due for new tires. Our summer tires (if these are even ours) were put on in what seems to be a worse condition than when we left them so new tires will likely be due soon.

Dropped it off at 2pm, by 5:35 had not heard from them, store was scheduled for closing at 6, called and couldn’t get through to the correct store. It seemed like a long time for what needed to be done, once I got to the Shop everything was explained and to why I didn’t get a call and why they couldn’t answer. I was very satisfied with the service considering it was basically a one man show on the front desk and the shop was very busy from the looks of all the vehicles in the parking lot and bays.. Sept 2019 I had my entire exhaust system replaced, excluding the cat. Total $621Muffler broke recently. Informed it was free, but labour would be charged. Upon inspection that the pipe would be cut closer to the cat and I should get a new hanger for security sake. Labour and tax would be $617***** Obviously I declined and had the service performed elsewhere for $339 including a stainless steel muffler. I brought my car in for a simple break inspection. I get a call less then an hour later telling me I need new caliber. I felt forced because I asked him multiple times to out my car back together and each time he says I don't feel safe with u putting it on the road, I really don't feel safe u driving it. I felt forced hard. Then he calls me hrs later says they can't get my abs light on. It wasn't when it went in. So they end up keeping my car for the day. Gave me a loaner for a few mins and was just disgusted on how dirty it was. It should be a work vechile not a loaner. So I call next day see if car is done. I can have it but I go to get in my car to find my break peddle now sounds like a bike air pump. He says take my car he will get the guy that worked on it to get back to me to look at it..so bring it to them and I then get a call that now there something going on with a seal around my break. My car was just fine before it went in. Now it's messed up. So he says he will put in a used seal. I think they dated mine and won't replace it new. So now I have my car and have to wait for him to get the part and he will out it on..
